The U.K. Office for National Statistics revised GDP growth down this morning to 1.1% from 1.3% for the third quarter on the back of weaker performances from the health, and hair and beauty sectors, and a larger contraction in the energy sector than previously expected, Spreadex junior sales trader Oliver Males says. Even the lower figure outshines data from the year prior, and points to the U.K. economy's gradual recovery to pre-pandemic levels, Mr. Males adds.
