FTSE 100 Poised to Edge Lower After Mixed Asia Trading

The FTSE 100 is expected to open seven points lower at 7345, according to CMC Markets, after mixed trading in Asia and a flat close on Wall Street. Mainland Chinese stocks drop 0.5%, but markets in Hong Kong and Japan are higher. The Dow closed largely unchanged at 36087. "We can expect to see a fairly flat European open after a similarly subdued Asia session thus far, with most attention on virtual talks between U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping," CMC analyst Michael Hewson says.
