WASHINGTON, Oct 6 (Reuters) - The aggressive rate increases enacted by the Federal Reserve so far this year were needed to prevent an inflationary psychology from becoming more deeply rooted, Fed Governor Lisa Cook said on Thursday. "High inflation has required this front loading and it's required to short circuit the potential psychology that can take hold," and keep inflation elevated, Cook said.
