MONTREAL-October 23, 2012-The consortium of The Cadillac
Fairview Corporation Limited, Canderel, the Fonds
immobilier de solidarité FTQ and the Montreal Canadiens
Hockey Club today unveiled the unique features of the
city's ultimate residential address: Tour des
Canadiens.
With the sales office about to open, enthusiasm for the
project is palpable. "Tour des Canadiens is much more
than a prestigious address. It embodies a unique concept
where sports and entertainment are an integral part of
daily life and is already sparking keen interest," said
Daniel Peritz, senior vice-president, Canderel.
"The Tour des Canadiens project has attracted record
interest. Several thousand people have signed up on our
website to find out more about the project, something that
has never before been seen in Canada. We're confident we
can quickly turn this interest into purchasing intent. A
number of units that were earmarked for season's ticket
holders have all found takers," added Mr. Peritz.
Exceptionally efficient use of space, inspired by a
European approach to design, access to a rain spa and
exceptionally well appointed amenity spaces are just a few
of the advantages that complement the fact that Tour des
Canadiens owners will have privileged access to a sports
bar and restaurant that promises to be one of the city's
hot spots, featuring cutting-edge multimedia
equipment.
Future buyers will also enjoy exclusive access to the
Montreal Canadiens. Every year, they will have priority for
purchasing tickets to regular season games and will be able
to enjoy one two-hour skating session for two people at the
Bell Centre. They will have the possibility of attending
preseason games in a private box or behind the Canadiens'
bench. They will also be invited to participate in private
workouts and a VIP tour of the players' dressing room.
Owners will have unprecedented privileges offered by the
Habs, something never before seen in the NHL.
Kevin Gilmore, executive vice-president and chief operating
officer of the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club, reiterated
his enthusiasm for Tour des Canadiens, an incomparable
residential complex in Montreal, which will enable its
residents to be part of the action at the Bell Centre in an
even more immediate, exciting way.
"We're very pleased to contribute to giving Montreal such
an exciting real estate project and to offering future
owners this privileged access to the Bell Centre. We are
also involved in developing the sports bar and restaurant
that will be part of the Tour des Canadiens project. It's
bound to become a destination that is unique in Canada,
where people visiting the Bell Centre, either for a
Canadiens game or for an evenko show, will be able to enjoy
an outstanding ambience," said Mr. Gilmore.
Mr. Gilmore also indicated that plans to relocate the Place
du Centenaire are advancing well. It will be situated in
the immediate environs of the Bell Centre and designed to
conserve this important tribute to the unique relationship
that has developed over the past century between the
Canadiens and their fans. He explained that for the
duration of the work, the statues and bricks will be
removed and carefully stored to preserve their integrity
until construction has been completed.
Designed by architects Cardinal Hardy and Martin
Marcotte/Beinhaker and the design firm Huma Design, the
48-storey building will be located at the corner of de la
Montagne and Avenue des Canadiens, in the heart of downtown
Montreal. To date, a 5,000-square-foot sales office has
been built on site to welcome potential buyers starting in
November. It houses an actual life-sized model unit, a
large projection room for viewing the latest video
describing the project, as well as presentation
touchscreens, a first in Montreal. Just one visit to the
sales office will suffice to appreciate the spectacular
setting that new owners of Tour des Canadiens will enjoy,
as well as the breathtaking views from the units.
The Tour des Canadiens is architecturally unique with its
two distinct parts evoking the natural variation in
elevation on the site where it will stand. Straddling the
ridge between the river and Mount Royal, Tour des Canadiens
will be an unmistakable visual landmark. Located in
the heart of downtown, it will offer direct access to the
Bell Centre, the metro, the train stations and underground
Montreal will be just steps from the city's business,
sports and cultural activities.
The building will stand on a 10-storey podium that will
house the indoor parking. In addition to giving direct
access to the city's largest intermodal transit hub, Tour
des Canadiens will include a magnificent terrace on the
10th floor, equipped with a pool, Miami-inspired cabanas
and areas for tanning, grilling and alfresco dining. There
is also a huge projection wall that's ideal for watching a
game or a movie, and also provides a perfect backdrop for a
DJ booth.
In addition, Tour des Canadiens boasts a state-of-the-art
fitness centre with exercise, yoga and aerobics rooms. The
chic, contemporary party room features a bar and
kitchenette, and the rain spa and hydrotherapy room are
perfect for relaxing after a tough day.
Huma Design have been responsible for the interior design
of the 520 residential units and the common areas in Tour
des Canadiens. Starting at about $250,000, they will be
distinguished by their sleek Euro style that pushes the
limits of design to create spacious, open interiors
regardless of square footage.
Classic walnut, urban grey or contemporary white will
dominate to enhance the units' functional elegance. The
interior design will optimize natural light with tall
windows that also serve as vantage points for the stunning
views. The one- or two-bedroom apartments and penthouse
units will all be delivered with integrated Euro-style
appliances, including refrigerator, convection oven,
cooktop, dishwasher, microwave and vent hood, and will be
equipped for the installation of various home automation
applications.
Finally, unlike any other projects, the Tour des Canadiens
benefits from an all-star team of investors who have both
the financial resources and experience to ensure the
project's success which should undoubtedly reassure all
future owners.
