GLOBAL MARKETS LIVE: Lyft, Intel, Uber…

A few companies published their quarterly results, while Merck announced it is going to help Johnson & Johnson to produce its vaccine and Intel is facing a heavy sanction. Uber and Lyft are also in the news.

Snowflake, Prudential Plc, Vivendi, Okta, Kuehne + Nagel and Stellantis are among companies reporting their results today.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise: earnings outlook raised.

Kuehne + Nagel: 2020 results are slightly above expectations. A dividend of CHF 4.50 will be proposed. The management does not make any quantified forecasts for this year, but is optimistic about the business.

Lyft: Q4 results are slightly better than expected. The share price has not reacted much after the session.

Shop Apotheke: the group has achieved profitability at the level of Ebitda in 2020 with a margin of 2.2%. Growth in 2021 should reach at least 20% and the Ebitda margin should be between 2.3 and 2.8%.

New automotive group Stellantis is aiming to increase its operating margin in 2021. The former PSA reached record profits last year despite the coronavirus.

Nordstrom posted sales and earnings for Q4 above expectations thanks to growing online demand. However, it will be forced to sell off inventory accumulated from delivery problems at a loss.

Intel is fined $2.2 billion for patent infringement.

Target plans to spend $4 billion a year to accelerate its deliveries.

Merck will help Johnson & Johnson produce its Covid vaccine.

Simon Thompson, president of Rio Tinto, will not seek reappointment in 2022.

Uber separates from Postmates delivery robots.

Idorsia files for approval of daridorexant in the EU.

Ricoh will buy back 20% of its own shares for JPY100 billion.

GAM Holding will initiate the orderly liquidation of the GAM Greensill Supply Chain Finance fund.

Greensill will negotiate its sale to Apollo.

Epic Games acquires developer Tonic Games.

Instacart valued at $39 billion in a new round of financing.
