Earnings season. Keurig, Kraft Heinz and Activision are among companies reporting their results today in the United States. Deutsche Telekom, Adidas, Merck KGaA, Zurich Insurance, KBC Groep and Kerry Group in Europe. China Mobile, MTR Corporation and Shiseido in Asia.

Brief review of corporate results. Last night in the United States, Booking and American International Group published solid quarterly results, while Lyft raised its forecasts. In Europe this morning, Adecco is disappointed, while Zurich Insurance and Vifor Pharma are shining. Fourth warning of the year for ThyssenKrupp, but the promise of strong action supports the case. Adidas disappoints and backs down.

Avoiding taxes. Uber Technologies has created a $6.1 billion Dutch tax deduction that will help the company reduce some of its global tax bill for years to come, Bloomberg reports. This comes after a European crackdown on offshore tax havens.

Viaskin Peanut - second try. DBV Technologies has resubmitted its registration dossier for Viaskin Peanut in peanut allergy to the US Medicines Agency for children aged 4 to 11 years. By the end of 2018, the group had withdrawn its initial application after comments from the FDA regarding quality control and good manufacturing practices. A delay that had obviously been very badly received on the stock market. This new submission provides more visibility on the calendar.

Some mergers. Siemens Healthineers acquires Corindus Vascular for $1.1 billion. According to Bloomberg, Bayer and Elanco could formalize the marriage of their animal health divisions as early as next week.

Juicy split. Insistent rumors suggest that Broadcom will buy its professional products division from Symantec for $10 billion, failing to acquire the entire cybersecurity specialist. An announcement will probably be made today, in conjunction with the publication of Symantec's quarterly reports.

General tour. The brewer Carlsberg shines on the stock market during the session, after raising its 2019 forecasts. The increase in current operating income will be close to 9% rather than 5%. The interim financial statements are due on August 15. 

Disengagement at Ryanair. The British pilots' union Balpa voted in favor of a wage driven strike at Ryanair. Two movements are planned during the summer, on August 22 and 23 and from September 2 to 4. Social relations are not the strong point of the Irish low-cost company, which is chronically confronted with the slingshot of its employees.

High voltage. Allianz Global Investors, Osram's main shareholder, voted against Bain Capital and Carlyle's proposed takeover bid, considering the proposal is €3.4 billion lower than the company's value. The management, which owns 9.3% of the capital, criticizes the position of the management board and the supervisory board, which "do not seem to have enough confidence in the company they run to prefer to sell at a discount price".

In other news. Salesforce spends $1.35 billion to buy ClickSoftware. Microsoft confirmed listening to user discussions, especially on Skype, to improve the quality of service and with the support of the users concerned, the group assures. The Boeing boss still thinks the B737 MAX will fly in 2019. Leclanché will be the service provider for the largest solar energy production and storage project in the Caribbean, in Saint Kitts and Nevis. Huntsman sells two divisions to Indorama Ventures for $2.1 billion. Samsung launches its Galaxy Note 10. Aviva confirmed that it was thinking about the future of its Asian subsidiary.
