Earnings season. Verizon, McDonald’s, 3M, Renault, Essilor, Atos, Sartorius Stedim Biotech and Texas Instruments are among companies reporting earnings.

AMS tumbles. Apple Inc. chip supplier AMS AG and Atos SE plummeted after delivering disappointing forecasts, stunning investors and triggering a selloff in some of Europe’s largest technology stocks.

Lower-than-expected results for Renault. Renault SA reported a bigger drop in third-quarter sales than analysts expected, as turmoil in emerging markets from Turkey to Iran cut into business and currencies faltered in several key countries.

Weak outlook. 3M Co cut its adjusted earnings per share forecast for the full year; the guidance missed the lowest analyst estimate.

An offshore contract. TechnipFMC has been awarded a major contract by Exxon Mobil for Phase 2 of the Liza project, offshore Guyana.
