  • Envision Healthcare, a provider of outsourced emergency services for hospitals backed by private equity firm KKR, received U.S. bankruptcy court approval on Wednesday to split into two companies and reduce its debt by more than $7 billion. KKR, which acquired the company in a 2018 buyout valued at $10 billion, will lose ownership once the restructuring is complete.
  • Newmont Corporation, the world's largest gold producer, said Wednesday that more than 96% of its shareholders supported its proposed $16.80 billion acquisition of Australian gold miner Newcrest Mining.
  • Illumina said on Wednesday that it would divest cancer screening test manufacturer GRAIL as quickly as possible if it loses one of the last appeals to the US or European courts, which accuse it of abusing its dominant position.
