An online meeting with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to further expand cooperation

An online chat has been held between Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Miyazaki Suguru and Hiroki Katayama, Head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Uzbekistan to expand cooperation projects.

At the beginning of the meeting, it was noted the impact of economic difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic that shook the world and the main goal of measures taken in this direction is to revive the economy in this difficult situation, including the reforms being implemented by our government. In this regard, it was noted that a number of international organizations have positively assessed the growth of the country's economy.

In addition to the above, opinions were expressed on the social assistance provided to the population during the pandemic in the country, the funds allocated to support family businesses and the role of education to improve the skills of the population.

During the meeting, the sides praised the cooperation on power plants, noting that the Uzbek side is not limited to cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the field of electricity, but also in other areas and projects, such as health care. , Said he would expand cooperation in the IT sector and other infrastructure and look forward to proposals on these.

For his part, Miyazaki Suguru, a spokesman for the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), said he was pleased with the cooperation and was ready to find a new approach to improving the skills of the population and to assist high-level experts.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the mutual meetings on further expansion of cooperation and readiness to cooperate.
