WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- The ICE Futures canola market was seeing little price movement at midday Monday compared to the previous week. Contracts haven't moved more than C$10 per metric ton.

The July canola contract is moving lower due to a lack of demand, but new crop positions were rising no more than C$5/tonne. A Winnipeg-based trader said there hasn't been a lot of selling pressure in the markets, despite concerns over dry conditions on the Prairies and the United States Northern Plains.

The Chicago soy complex was mixed at midday. As soybeans and soymeal were drifting lower, while soyoil was rising one cent per pound.

The Canadian dollar was holding steady at midday.

Nearly 9,000 contracts were traded as of 11:51 a.m. EDT.
