Shares of industrial and transportation companies rose, but not by as much as the broad market, as a rotation out of growth sectors into value sectors stalled alongside a Treasury yield rally.

Shares of General Electric were more or less flat, a session after hitting a multiyear high on the strength of an agreement to sell its aircraft leasing unit to Irish rival AerCap Holdings. Shares of AerCap also gave back some of the gains associated with the deal.

German freight-and-logistics giant Deutsche Post said fourth-quarter earnings rose to about $1.5 billion on continued e-commerce growth, and the company raised its midterm targets through 2023.

Tire maker Continental shares fell after it reported a net loss for 2020 and a decline in sales, but said it expects a rebound in demand.
