Landslide sweeps away road in Japan typhoon

Japan's meteorological agency said winds at the centre of Typhoon Talas were blowing at about 40 mph, with peak gusts of about 56 mph.

Although it was downgraded to an extratropical cyclone on Saturday morning, further torrential rain in Shizuoka was expected and authorities have urged caution for landslides and flooding.
