Metalcorp Group: update on Guinea operations
Luxembourg, 20 January 2022 - Metalcorp Group S.A., a global service provider for the procurement, production, mining and marketing of metals and minerals, herewith states its position on media reports suggesting that the mining operations of the Guinea bauxite subsidiary Société des Bauxites de Guinée (SBG) have been halted. This is incorrect - SBG's mining operations have never been halted. There was a preliminary proceeding initiated by a supplier whose appointment was cancelled by SBG due to the supplier's non fulfilment of its contractual obligations. This preliminary proceeding was cancelled in favour of SBG by the Appeal Court of Conakry, Guinea on 4 January 2022. This had no economic impact on either SBG or Metalcorp.
Metalcorp looks forward to publishing its preliminary full year 2021 results on 27 January 2022.
