AstraZeneca announced that its lung cancer drug, datopotamab deruxtecan (Dato-DXd), showed a clinically meaningful improvement in overall survival for certain lung cancer patients in a late-stage trial. However, the results did not reach statistical significance in the overall trial population. 

EasyJet is preparing for a record summer by enhancing its Integrated Control Centre near Luton airport with artificial intelligence. The airline has doubled its staff to 266, managing around 2,000 flights daily. The AI tool helps staff make decisions on rerouting aircraft and reassigning crew. EasyJet operates over 340 passenger planes, including 14 backup aircraft across Europe. 

British housebuilder Persimmon is contemplating a £1 billion takeover of Cala Group, currently owned by Legal & General Group. The bid deadline is this week, and other housebuilders, including Taylor Wimpey, may also make offers.

Vodafone has signed an infrastructure agreement with Vonovia, one of Germany's largest housing companies, to provide 120,000 additional housing units with the option to use Vodafone's cable fiber network starting July 2024. The market segment has been competitive for years, with Vodafone regaining a contract lost to Deutsche Telekom in 2013.

Shell's downstream business in South Africa has attracted bids over $800 million from companies including Adnoc, Saudi Aramco, Trafigura's Puma Energy, Glencore, and Sasol. The bidding process is in the early stages, with the deadline approaching in the coming weeks.
