UK engineering firm Petrofac has extended its well management and well operator services contract with NEO Energy for five years, it said January 25. Originally signed in 2020 and renewed early last year, the contract covers 27 wells in the Affleck, Balloch, Dumbarton, Lochranza and Finlaggan fields in the Central North Sea. The contract also positions Petrofac to support future well construction and intervention campaigns, it said.

Petrofac's Nick Shorten said the award allowed it to build on its "exemplary track record of delivering well operator services in the UKCS." Privately-held NEO bought Zennor Petroleum from Kerogen Capital last year.

Petrofac said that since taking on well management and well operator responsibilities for NEO it had overseen the successful start-up of the Finlaggan Field and prepared for production enhancing intervention and new well campaigns in 2022/23.
