• Siemens signed an investment agreement with the Administrative Committee of Suzhou National New & Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone to establish the Siemens Electrical Products China headquarters in Suzhou

Siemens and the Administrative Committee of Suzhou National New & Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (SND) today signed an investment agreement to establish the China headquarters of Siemens Electrical Products in Suzhou, China. Effective October 1st, 2021, Siemens Electrical Apparatus Ltd., Suzhou (SEAL) will be upgraded to the headquarters of Siemens Electrical Products for China. The new headquarters will be responsible for all Siemens Electrical Products business activities in China including business development, product management, digitalization center, R&D as well as manufacturing, and will export to more than 20 countries worldwide. The establishment of the headquarters is also fully supported by the SND. Wu Xiaodong, Vice Mayor of Suzhou Municipal People's Government, Fang Wenbang, Secretary of SND Party Working Committee, Andreas Matthé, Global CEO of Electrical Products, Siemens Smart Infrastructure, and Markus Grabmeier, Executive Vice President of Siemens Electrical Products and General Manager of Electrical Products China attended the ceremony.

Andreas Matthé, Global CEO of Electrical Products, Siemens Smart Infrastructure said: 'China has become a key engine for the development of Siemens Electrical Products business in recent years. The establishment of the Siemens Electrical Products China headquarters will further strengthen our set-up in China and strongly support our future development.'

Siemens Electrical Products is a global supplier of low and medium voltage products for intelligent electrical power distribution and for switching, protecting, monitoring and controlling of low voltage loads. At present, Siemens Electrical Products business in China has four factories and four research and development centers, dedicated to the development and manufacturing of smart electrical products, including digital application service, intelligent edge control software and hardware serving customers in multiple applications such as smart infrastructure, new energy, smart automation and IoT applications.

Suzhou Siemens Electrical Apparatus Ltd., Suzhou (SEAL) was founded in 1994, focusing on the development and production of high quality, cost-effective contactors, circuit breakers, push button and indicators, etc. Those products are widely used in building, new energy, transportation, petrochemical, automobile manufacturing, HVAC and other industries to ensure safe and reliable power supply. With years of rapid development, SEAL has not only established two Smart Manufacturing Demonstration workshops for low-voltage electrical products and control products, but also developed an excellent Research and Design and testing team. The low-voltage products produced by SEAL have been widely used in the rail transit system of more than 30 cities, and the control products have been used in the production lines of more than 20 domestic and foreign automobile manufacturers. In 2018, the Competence Center for Electrification, Automation and Digitalization was built in SEAL which is the first customer showcase center of its kind in Siemens China.
