South Africa recorded foreign direct investment inflows of 17.4 billion rand ($1.02 billion) in the second quarter of 2020 compared to inflows of 29.0 billion rand in the first quarter, the central bank said on Tuesday.
Portfolio investments, reflecting a record of buying and selling of securities such as bonds and shares, registered outflows of 54.8 billion rand in the second quarter compared to outflows of 97.6 billion rand in the first quarter.
