Shares of technology companies fell as traders continued a recent retreat from risk.

High-risk digital currencies including bitcoin continued their recent retreat triggered by the near-implosion of "stablecoin" TerraUSD.

ManTech International rose after the government IT and cybersecurity contractor said it agreed to be acquired by investment firm Carlyle Group in a deal that values it at $4.2 billion.

Electric-vehicle maker Rivian Automotive is locked in a legal battle with a key supplier of seats, the outcome of which it says could impact production of an electric van ordered by Amazon.com, according to court records reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

The White House engaged in a spat with Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos over whether corporate tax rates or economic stimulus were drivers of inflation.
