Shares of technology companies rallied after a broad tech-driven selloff yesterday.

The recent spate of volatility was both unavoidable and relatively modest, said Michael Gayed, a portfolio manager and author of the Lead-Lag Report newsletter.

Ransomware is likely to remain a threat to U.S. economic and national security for years to come, the country's top military cyber official said Tuesday. Army Gen. Paul Nakasone, the director of the National Security Agency, said at a conference hosted in Washington, D.C., by cybersecurity firm Mandiant that he believes ransomware attacks won't end anytime soon.

German chip maker Infineon Technologies on Tuesday provided an outlook for its current fiscal year, forecasting revenue to rise strongly and targeting a segment result margin of around 20%.
