Tesla soars. The craze for Tesla continues: the capitalization of the American manufacturer – at 89 billion dollars - now exceeds that of Ford and General Motors combined.

Apple progresses in China.  iPhone sales in China rose more than 18% year-on-year in December, according to official Chinese statistics.

Boeing’s troubles continue. The European Commission has resumed its in-depth investigation into Boeing's takeover of Brazilian manufacturer Embraer's civil aviation business for $4.2 billion. Meanwhile, the passenger plane of Ukraine International Airlines, a Boeing 737, which crashed on Wednesday shortly after takeoff from Tehran, killing all 176 people on board, was on fire just before it crashed, according to the Iranian Civil Aviation Authority.

Twitter fights harassment. Twitter announced that it plans to test new features this year that allow social network users to control who can reply to their tweets, a measure designed to limit harassment on the platform.

Opening. China plans to allow foreign companies to exploit oil and gas resources in the country, starting May 1. On that date, companies registered in the country, with sufficient asset size, will be able to take part in exploration and production projects.

Theatrical. Carlos Ghosn, former boss of Renault Nissan, continued to claim his innocence after several hours of a one-man show in Lebanon. He severely attacked the Japanese justice system and the French authorities for their interference in Renault's strategy. The Japanese justice minister described the charges against the Japanese judicial system as "absolutely intolerable".

Asset-Light. CGG definitively exited its marine seismic data acquisition activity by signing the planned contract with Shearwater. Shearwater will acquire five high-end vessels jointly owned by CGG and Eidesvik Offshore and CGG's streamer equipment, which in exchange will have access to guaranteed capacity. The creation of a joint venture around Sercel branded streamer equipment will be completed by June.

New items on TELLOMAK. Innate Pharma maintains the partial suspension of the TELLOMAK trial and expects a new batch of Lacutamab GMP-certified in the second half of 2020 after changing subcontractors. The company communicates after receiving the FDA's opinion, which suspends the recruitment of new patients but authorizes the treatment of patients already enrolled. The UK agency allows the trial to continue. Innate was confronted with the failure of the subcontractor who produced the clinical batches.

Sika is enjoying shopping. Sika posted sales of CHF 8.11 billion in 2019, up 14.4%, of which 3.3% is organic. The Swiss group benefited in particular from these acquisitions, notably Parex. The consensus at AWP was positioned slightly higher, at CHF 8.14bn. Sika confirms that its 2019 operating profit has grown in double digits.
