The reading compared with a forecast for a rise of 2.5% in a Reuters poll and followed October's 2.38% increase.

The core CPI index was up 0.29% from a year earlier, versus a forecast for a 0.30% rise.

For 2021, the ministry is maintaining its forecast for headline inflation of 0.8% to 1.2%.

The headline CPI in 2022 is projected to rise by 0.7% to 2.4%.
