Shares in Toronto were down mid-trading Thursday with Xebec Adsorption Inc.'s shares trading lower after signing a hydrogen contract with a Turkish flat steel manufacturer.
At midday, Canada's S&P/TSX Composite Index was down 0.5% at 20061.35, while the blue-chip S&P/TSX 60 slipped 0.5% to 1203.31.
Clean energy provider Xebec Adsorption Inc.'s shares tumbled 10% to C$2.76 after the company signed a contract to supply two on-site hydrogen generation units to a Turkey-based flat steel manufacturer.
Other market movers:
Shares of Canadian National Railway Co. slipped 0.2% to C$147.25 Thursday, a day after shareholder TCI Fund Management Ltd. sent a letter to the company's board alleging that Canadian National Railway didn't disclose the resignation of a board member in a timely manner.
