LONDON, April 20 (Reuters) - Britain's unemployment rate unexpectedly fell to 4.9% in the three months to February, a period the country spent mostly under a tight COVID lockdown, official figures showed on Tuesday.

Economists polled by Reuters had mostly expected the unemployment rate to edge up to 5.1% from 5.0% in the three months to January. (Reporting by William Schomberg and Andy Bruce)
