Washington Federal : 3 Ways to Save with Green Checking

05/04/2017 | 03:49am EST

Our banking habits have changed a lot over the past few years. Most of us have moved from checks to debit cards, and from paying someone back with cash to reimbursing with just a text or email. Today, managing your money involves more than just reviewing a checking account statement once a month. That's why we've designed our Green Checking Account. (Account requires $100 minimum balance to open.)

Every Green Checking account comes standard with a host of value-added benefits, available through SecureChecking.com, designed to help you manage more than just your money. Benefits include $hopping Rewards, Family Health Discounts, Mobile Phone Protection, and Travel and Leisure Coupons -which can be easily accessed directly from the Secure Checking app.

How could you save? A few of our team members took Green Checking for a test drive to find out. Here are a few examples of how our colleague saved using Green Checking benefits:

$120 Saved on Mobile Phone Protection

By enrolling in Mobile Phone Protection with Green Checking, Robbie saved $10 a month by cancelling his former phone insurance.

Meanwhile, our colleague Leslie no longer needs her former $11 a month insurance, which covered only onephone. With Green Checking, all threeof her phones are eligible for Mobile Phone Protection.

Another example: 'For three years I have paid $20 a month, $10 each, for phone insurance for my husband and me. Now, that's $20 a month that goes in my pocket. That's $240 a year!' Ann.

$80 Saved on Car Rentals.

Green Checking's Travel & Leisure coupons include deals on car rentals. For example, one of our colleagues saved $80 off a 5-day rental, and another saved $87 on a 3-day rental. You can print the coupons off, or download and use the Secure Checking app for easier access.

$25 Saved on Eating Out.

Pam recently used one of the Travel & Leisure restaurant coupons to save 25% off her table's entire bill. (Excluding alcohol, tip and taxes).
