goHACK.me the Free IoT Cloud Aimed at Gadgetologists, Engineers and Entrepreneurs Adds a Web Connector for NEST

10/14/2014 | 08:08am EST

The free cloud, inspiring creative minds, enables the perfect storm by adding web connectors for your favorite products

goHACK.me is designed to address one of the biggest issues facing product designers, entrepreneurs and hobbyists today - ‘How to easily demonstrate products working with cloud connectivity without investing huge amounts of time and resource needed to support the required infrastructure’.

goHACK.me, by ACKme Networks (www.ack.me) is a free-to-use cloud designed to offer engineers a cloud-based sense and control solution to easily enable demonstration of concepts and ideas before investing in a full commercial solution.

While goHACK.me is designed to only offer a limited and non-commercial service, the team at goHACK.me took the additional step to help demonstrate and pioneer the much needed cloud-to-cloud connectivity required to truly embrace a fully connected ecosystem. Built in to the goHACK.me cloud service are a number of web connectors allowing for connection to 3rd party clouds such as Nest. The Nest web connector allows users of ACKme evaluation boards, such as the Mackerel (AMW004-E03), to control their Nest thermostat by adding simple rules within their account such as: If Mackerel board button 1 is pushed, set temperature to 55 degrees.

Engineers looking to set up simple device relationships via the cloud can do so by creating a gHm account at https://goHACK.me and acquiring hardware, such as the Mackerel, from any reputable electronics distributor. The Mackerel board has a RRP of $82 USD.

About ACKme Networks

Based in Los Gatos (Silicon Valley), California with design centers in the USA and Australia, ACKme (www.ack.me) has assembled a team of industry veterans to unify wireless hardware, software and cloud connectivity.

Utilizing leading industry standards and tools, ACKme develops embedded wireless modules, intelligent internet connectivity software and applications including feature-rich embedded firmware, secure networking transport, cloud connectivity and scalable server-side cloud solutions.
