(Alliance News) - The CEO of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena Spa, Luigi Lovaglio, cancelled all scheduled meetings with investors on Monday to present the integration plan with Mediobanca Spa, Reuters reported on Monday.
The rumors, coming from sources close to Lovaglio, arrive after the current CEO was excluded from the list of candidates for the board renewal. He could be replaced by one of Fabrizio Palermo, Corrado Passera, or Carlo Vivaldi.
The credit institution has not released any statements.
MPS shares closed down 1.7% on Monday at EUR7.05 per share, while Mediobanca fell 2.1% to EUR15.39 per share.
