(Alliance News) - MAIRE Spa announced Thursday that Nextchem, through its nitrogen technology licensor Stamicarbon, has been awarded a contract by AdvanSix for the Licensing and Process Design Package for a new urea-to-Diesel Exhaust Fluid plant in Hopewell, Virginia.
The scope of the project - as disclosed by the company in a statement - includes a urea melt plant with a nominal capacity of 700 short tons per day based on NX STAMI Urea technology, fully integrated with a DEF production section designed to convert 100% of the urea melt into DEF.
This configuration represents an innovative application for Stamicarbon, marking the first project where the entire urea melt production can be dedicated exclusively to DEF. The contract is subject to the Final Investment Decision and Notice to Proceed, expected in the first half of 2027.
