Mastercard Inc. on Friday announced a collaboration with JD.com Inc. to expand payment infrastructure and collaborate on AI in commerce in China. Mastercard, the Purchase, New York-based payments processor said its partnership with JD.com, the Beijing-based online direct sales company, will improve visitor experience in China. The collaboration will "further integrate and enhance global payment connectivity by developing a payment infrastructure to support JD.com's international business development and enable broader use cases in global commerce.
Additionally, the companies will collaborate to develop AI-powered purchasing solutions through Mastercard Agent Pay, which Mastercard said will build "secure, scalable and trusted payments in agentic commerce.
