(Alliance News) - The MIB is holding slightly above the parity line at the start of the first session of June, trading above the 50,000-point mark, in a context characterized by a cautious approach from investors.
Sentiment remains influenced by persistent geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East. While the US and Iran are reportedly discussing a possible extension of the ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the lack of concrete developments continues to limit risk appetite.
Added to this are growing tensions related to the expansion of Israeli ground operations in Lebanon, fueling fears of a broader regional escalation.
On the monetary policy front, traders are positioned for a 25-basis-point hike at the June 11 meeting. In this scenario, the Milanese index shows a wait-and-see dynamic, as operators balance the prospects of continued monetary tightening against risks arising from the international geopolitical framework.
Consequently, the MIB is posting a fractional gain at 50,040.89 points.
Among the smaller indices, the Mid-Cap is down 0.2% at 62,123.97, the Small-Cap is up 0.5% at 36,018.50, and Italy Growth is rising 0.2% to 9,115.03.
The CAC 40 is fractionally in the green at 8,185.66 points, the DAX 40 is up 0.2%, and the FTSE 100 is recording a 0.2% decrease.
On the blue-chip index, Avio is shedding 5.5%, following a 1.8% decline in the previous session.
Leonardo - down 1.5% - announced on Friday that the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs has ordered two C-27J Spartan tactical transport aircraft under the SAFE (Security Action for Europe) instrument, aimed at strengthening national emergency response, civil protection, and humanitarian support capabilities.
Stellantis - down 0.9% - confirms its intention to maintain all 14 of its brands, despite recurring speculation about divestments, as reported Monday by Corriere della Sera in its L'Economia supplement. The new CEO, Antonio Filosa, reaffirmed the strategy outlined in the 2030 plan, which aims to streamline the portfolio by assigning precise industrial and investment priorities. Among the brands that have received less attention in recent years are Lancia and Alfa Romeo, penalized by a limited range and modest investment.
Telecom Italia is gaining 0.3% at EUR0.73 per share. Notably, Barclays has trimmed its target price to EUR0.65 from EUR0.66 per share.
DiaSorin - up 0.7% - announced on Friday that it repurchased 46,853 of its own ordinary shares between May 25 and May 29. The shares were purchased at an average unit price of EUR66.176, for a total value of EUR3.1 million.
Among Mid-Caps, BFF Bank is retreating 4.1% after three bullish sessions.
Brembo - up 0.5% - is transforming the traditional braking system into a platform based on software, sensors, electronics, and artificial intelligence. Executive Chairman Matteo Tiraboschi pointed to Sensify, the group's new intelligent braking system, as one of the most concrete examples of this evolution, emphasizing how the technology can significantly reduce stopping distances and help prevent accidents.
LU-VE - up 2.5% - continues to benefit from growing demand related to artificial intelligence and data centers, a market analysts consider one of the group's primary growth drivers. According to an analysis reported Monday by la Repubblica in its Affari&Finanza supplement, the company is involved in projects for major tech operators and has reportedly signed an agreement with a US hyperscaler, kept confidential but associated with names like Microsoft, Amazon, and Google.
Banco di Desio e della Brianza - down 0.3% - announced on Monday the start of the share buyback program effective June 1, as authorized by the shareholders' meeting on April 29 and approved by the Bank of Italy on May 11. The program involves the purchase of up to 3.9 million treasury shares, representing 3% of the share capital, for a maximum total value of EUR40 million.
On the Small-Cap index, Seri Industrial is advancing 7.5%, marking its ninth consecutive bullish session.
Tessellis - up 6.1% - announced that the Court of Cagliari has given the green light to the lease of certain business units. As part of the negotiated settlement, the company received a binding offer from Canarbino Spa on March 1 regarding the valuation of Tiscali Italia Spa's B2C business unit and the 'Tiscali' and 'Linkem' brands, to be implemented through a lease agreement functional to the subsequent purchase of the business unit and brands.
Trevi Finanziaria is advancing 0.8% to EUR7.21 per share. Alantra maintains a 'buy' recommendation on the stock with a target price of EUR10.00 per share, after the company announced Polaris Capital Management's irrevocable commitment to fully subscribe to its portion of the upcoming EUR100 million capital increase.
In the view of analysts, the combination of the capital increase and refinancing offers good visibility on the outcome of the operation before its launch, expected by the end of the first half of 2026, subject to the approval of the information prospectus.
The shareholders' meeting of Triboo - up 0.6% - on Friday, in addition to approving the 2025 financial statements, appointed the board of directors. The new board, which will serve until the approval of the financial statements as of December 31, 2026, will consist of Riccardo Maria Monti, Giulio Corno, Ramona Corti, Dania Ferrari, and Cristina Mollis.
Among SMEs, Espe is advancing 8.4% to EUR6.20 per share, following a 0.5% decline on Friday evening.
Casta Diva Group - flat at EUR3.07 - announced that it closed 2025 with a net profit of EUR710,000, down from EUR975,000 in 2024. Profit attributable to the group stood at EUR618,000 compared to EUR938,000 in the previous year.
H-Farm - up 7.8% - announced that it closed the first half of the 2025-2026 fiscal year on February 28 with a loss of EUR2.2 million, an improvement over the EUR5.2 million loss recorded in the first half of 2024-2025. Consolidated management production value was EUR11.8 million compared to EUR20.9 million in the first half of 2024-2025.
Mondo TV France - in a volatility auction after a double-digit drop - announced that it closed 2025 with a net loss of EUR976,000, an improvement over the EUR3.8 million loss recorded in 2024. Revenue from sales and services decreased to EUR884,000 from EUR2.0 million in 2024. The decline is mainly attributed to fewer deliveries of animated series compared to the previous year, when the Grisù series was completed and delivered to RAI and ZDF.
In New York on Friday evening, the Dow gained 0.7%, while the Nasdaq and S&P 500 both advanced 0.2%.
On the currency front, the euro is trading at USD1.1650 from USD1.1684 on Friday evening, while the pound is trading at USD1.3459 from USD1.3438 on Friday evening.
Among commodities, Brent is trading at USD94.01 per barrel from USD90.74 on Friday evening, while gold is valued at USD4,498.08 per ounce from USD4,478.41 at Friday's close.
On Monday's economic calendar, the US manufacturing PMI is scheduled for 1600 CEST.
