Supporting this cautious optimism is Tehran's openness to participating in Pakistan-mediated talks, although a final decision has yet to be reached and the current ceasefire is at risk of expiring tomorrow without an agreement.
Around 9:35 CET, the FTSE Mib was up 0.34%, driven by consumer discretionary and financial stocks, while oil majors remained sluggish following a retracement in crude prices.
Among banks, MPS rose 1.2% against a 0.2% gain for the banking sector index, after Goldman Sachs raised its price target on the Sienese lender to 11.6 euros from 10.1 euros.
AVIO stands out at the top of the FTSE Mib, climbing 4.8% on the back of positive comments from Jefferies, which hiked its price target to 43.5 euros from 41.5 euros while maintaining a "buy" rating.
Conversely, LEONARDO shed 1.3% after Jefferies downgraded the aerospace and defense group to "hold" from "buy," cutting its price target to 62 euros from 68 euros.
STELLANTIS also performed well, gaining 1.5%, alongside FERRARI (+1.1%) and luxury names such as MONCLER (+1.1%) and BRUNELLO CUCINELLI (+1%).
