Minieye Technology Co. Ltd. announced that Professor Shi Ling has been appointed as the Chief Scientist of the Company with effect from April 2026. In this position, Prof. Shi will be responsible for providing advice on strategic direction and professional technical consultation, and participate in project development of the Group.

Prof. Shi received his PhD degree in Control & Dynamical Systems from the California Institute of Technology, USA, in 2008. He currently serves as the Director of Cheng Kar-Shun Robotics Institute at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Associate Director of Space Science and Technology Institute at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Professor (with tenure) in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He served as the Associate Director of the Robotics Institute at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Associate Director of HKUST-DJI Joint Innovation Laboratory from 2017 to 2021, and joined the Faculty of the Electronic and Computer Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2008.

Prof. Shi has achieved remarkable research achievements in the field of robotics. He was once selected as a Young Scientist of the World Laureates Forum and a Young Scientist of the World Economic Forum, elected as an IEEE Fellow and a Member of the Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences. Prof. Shi received significant academic honors, including the Chen Hanfu Award.

He also received the First Prize of the Natural Science Award in the Ministry of Education?s Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements Awards for Higher Education Institutions in 2017, the Second Prize of Natural Science Award of Shanghai in 2019 and 2024, and was selected into the World?s Top 2% Scientists List published by Stanford University in 2022. Prof. Shi also holds several prominent positions in the international academic community, serving as an associate editor for many prestigious international journals, including IEEE Transactions on Control of Networked Systems, IEEE Control Systems Letters, and International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control. He once served as a member of the IFAC Technical Committee on Networked Systems and is on the editorial boards of various international conferences, such as the European Control Conference (ECC), the IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), and the American Control Conference (ACC).

Additionally, he once served as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Council of the Hong Kong Automatic Control Association and the chairperson of the International Symposium on Mathematical Theory of Networks and Systems (MTNS). The board of directors of Minieye Technology Co. Ltd. comprises Dr. Liu Guoqing, Mr. Yang Guang, Mr. Zhou Xiang and Mr. Wang Qicheng as executive directors; Mr. Bi Lei and Ms. Liu Yiran as non-executive directors; and Dr. Xiang Yang, Mr. Tan Kaiguo and Dr. Tan Mingkui as independent non-executive directors.
