Feb 10 (Reuters) - Adani Energy Solutions has secured long-term financing from a consortium of Japanese banks, led by MUFG and SMBC, for a renewable power transmission project in northern India.
Adani Energy, part of the Adani conglomerate, said on Monday that the project will supply power from solar-rich regions in the state of Rajasthan to India's national grid.
The company did not disclose details regarding financing in Monday's statement. On Tuesday, Bloomberg News, citing sources, reported that the firm has secured a $750 million loan.
The Adani group did not immediately respond to a Reuters' request for comment. MUFG and SMBC were not immediately available for comment.
The project, connecting Bhadla in Rajasthan to Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh state, is scheduled to be commissioned by 2029 and will strengthen grid stability for energy-intensive urban and industrial centres, Adani Energy said.
