Münchener Rückversicherungs-Gesellschaft (Munich Re) is one of the world leaders in reinsurance. Gross written premiums break down by activity as follows: - reinsurance (70.2%): non-life reinsurance (71.3% of gross written premiums) and life and health reinsurance (28.7%); - insurance (29.8%): life and health insurance (48.2% of gross premiums issued) and non-life insurance (21.6%). The remaining gross written premiums (30.2%) are from international insurance activities. Revenues are distributed geographically as follows: Germany (26.1%), Europe (28.4%), North America (31.1%), Asia and Australasia (9.3%), Africa and Middle East (2.7%) and Latin America (2.4%).
