Nvidia has said that it is expanding its partnerships in the field of autonomous driving with several automakers, including Hyundai Motor, Nissan, Isuzu, as well as the Chinese groups BYD and Geely. These agreements focus on the Nvidia Drive Hyperion platform, a system designed to develop and deploy advanced driver assistance and autonomous driving functions. This technology specifically targets Level 4 vehicles, capable of operating without human intervention in certain areas or specific conditions.

During the GTC conference, CEO Jensen Huang estimated that the industry is entering a new phase of development. He stated that "the ChatGPT moment of autonomous driving has arrived," referring to the acceleration of progress thanks to artificial intelligence. Nvidia also announced four new partners for its robotaxi platform, highlighting that the number of vehicles ready for this type of service could increase significantly in the coming years.

The Drive Hyperion platform is part of the comprehensive ecosystem developed by Nvidia for autonomous driving, which includes model training in data centers, large-scale simulations, and on-board computer systems in vehicles. Companies already using these technologies include Aurora, Nuro, Sony, Uber, Stellantis, and the electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid. However, Nvidia does not manufacture autonomous vehicles or most of the components necessary for their operation.
