Orrön Energy has announced that the main proceedings in the so-called Sudan trial have now concluded after more than two and a half years in the Stockholm District Court.

The case concerns allegations of complicity in grave war crimes related to the former oil operations of Lundin Oil and later Lundin Petroleum in Sudan between 1999 and 2003. The company and its former executives have denied all charges.

Claims for legal costs totaling 818.7 million SEK have been submitted regarding the defense of the company and its former representatives. A verdict is expected in early December.

'Nothing has emerged during the trial to suggest that the company or its former representatives acted improperly', stated CEO Daniel Fitzgerald, among other comments.

Orrön further noted that the costs reflect an extensive defense effort spanning more than 15 years.

Orrön Energy is the current corporate name following the restructuring.
