Ørsted A/S (CPH:ORSTED) is considering disposing of its onshore renewable energy assets in the US and has tapped advisers to help it in the process, Bloomberg reported, citing sources. The targeted portfolio includes onshore wind, solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) and a potential sale could result in more than USD 1 billion (EUR 859 million) in proceeds, according to one of the insiders quoted by the media. The contemplated sale is said to be aimed at allowing the Nordic firm to focus on its core offshore wind activities in Europe.

In February, Ørsted agreed to sell some of its European onshore business to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) for EUR 1.44 billion. The report comes after the Danish energy company acquired the 150-MW Salzburg BESS project in the state of Michigan earlier this year.
