Pfizer Gets FDA Expanded Hympavzi Approval

Pfizer has won U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for the expanded use of its Hympavzi hemophilia drug in two patient populations with significant medical need.

Pfizer on Monday said the green light covers Hympavzi for the treatment of patients 12 and older with hemophilia A or B with inhibitors and patients ages 6 to 11 with or without inhibitors.

The New York drugmaker said Hympavzi is now indicated in the U.S. for routine prophylaxis to prevent or reduce the frequency of bleeding episodes in people ages 6 and up with hemophilia A with or without factor VIII inhibitors or hemophilia B with or without factor IX inhibitors.
