The other director nominees, according to a statement from the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), are Wanda Ternau, Salvatore Muscarella, Francesco Scacchi
and Olga Cuccurullo.
Del Fante has served as CEO of Poste since 2017, and his third term expires in April following the annual general meeting to approve the financial statements.
The Treasury holds a direct 29.3% stake in the postal service, while an additional 35% interest is held through Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.
Last year, Del Fante also spearheaded the group's entry into the former telephone monopolist Telecom Italia (Tim), becoming its largest shareholder. At the end of March, Poste launched a 10.8 billion euro exchange tender offer (Opas) for Tim.
