Real estate tycoon Rutger Arnhult's investment firm, M2 Asset Management, has entered into an agreement to acquire Gårdarike's holding in the real estate company Corem, representing just over 16 percent of the voting rights and 4.8 percent of the share capital, according to a press release.

Following the transaction, M2 controls over 52 percent of the capital and 64 percent of the votes in Corem. Consequently, Corem becomes a subsidiary of M2 and will be consolidated into the group starting from the second quarter of 2026.

M2 CEO Jakob Mörndal states that the company sees significant value in Corem and assesses that the stock is trading at a level substantially below its net asset value.

'Even though real estate companies, and particularly the office segment, have faced challenges in recent years, we believe in Corem for the long term. The stock is currently trading at a valuation that, in our assessment, is significantly lower than the value of the underlying assets', he says.

Corem last closed at SEK 2.53, compared to a net asset value (NAV) of SEK 10.96 per share at the end of the first quarter.

The purchase price is being settled through the offsetting of M2's receivables from Gårdarike, meaning the transaction is being carried out without any cash payment.

'By converting our receivables from Gårdarike into direct ownership in Corem, we are strengthening our exposure to assets that we are convinced will perform well in the future - without tying up new capital. This is a clear expression of our confidence in Corem's value and future', says Mörndal.
