On the broad Wall Street market, the S&P 500 index closed Wednesday down 1.62 percent at 7,266.99. Following the Stockholm Stock Exchange close, the S&P 500 index shed approximately 0.8 percentage points.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite index closed 1.98 percent lower at 25,169.50. After the Stockholm market close, the Nasdaq Composite index fell by about 0.9 percentage points.

In futures trading today, the S&P 500 future is up 0.34 percent, while the Nasdaq 100 future is gaining 0.60 percent.
