SoftBank Group's payments app operator, PayPay, has priced its initial public offering at $16 an American depositary share.

The Japanese technology investment company said Thursday that PayPay's American depositary shares are expected to begin trading later in the day.

PayPay said last week that about 55 million American depositary shares were expected to be offered in the range of $17.00 to $20.00 apiece.
