Canada's CPPIB and Czech group EPH are expected to submit expressions of interest for Uniper as Germany moves to divest its 74.12 percent stake in the energy utility, according to Reuters sources. Brookfield, Equinor, and TotalEnergies are also anticipated to participate in the process.

The transaction could value Uniper at over 10 billion euros. A second bidding round is scheduled for this summer, with a deal potentially finalized by autumn.

Fortum is reportedly interested in Uniper's Swedish hydro and nuclear power assets should they become available.
