SSP Canada,a division of SSP Group, a leading operator of food and beverage brands in travel locations worldwide, today announced the opening of Barrafina at YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, introducing a beautifully designed, lively new concept to the airport's U.S. transborder area.
Located betweengates 78 and 79 as part of a broader new restaurant offering in the U.S. terminal, Barrafina brings an energetic, Italian-inspired bar and dining experience to travelers before departure. Designed as a warm, modern gathering place, the concept blends the spirit of the Italian aperitivo with the pace and practicality of the airport journey - offering passengers a space that feels polished, social, and easy to enjoy.
Barrafina's all-day menu celebrates Italian flavours through a broad, crowd-pleasing mix of hearty breakfasts, fresh salads, handcrafted pizzas, gourmet sandwiches, and homemade pastas, complemented by a curated selection of wines, beers, and cocktails. The concept moves easily from morning coffee to pre-flight drink to full meal, giving travelers more choice and a relaxing moment of respite before continuing their journey.
"ADM Aéroports de Montréal is delighted to welcome the new Barrafina restaurant to YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport," said Philippe Stas, Vice President, Services, Commercial and Innovation at ADM. Passenger satisfaction is a priority for our organization, and we are proud to collaborate with our partner, SSP, to provide a terminal experience that rivals those of major international airports."
Jennifer Juul, Vice President, Development, SSP Canada , said: "Barrafina was created to bring a little more rhythm, warmth, and enjoyment to the airport journey. It's a concept rooted in the convivial spirit of Italian food and drink but designed specifically for how people travel today - with quality, flexibility, and atmosphere all working together. We're proud to open Barrafina at YUL's transborder area and to continue our longstanding partnership with the airport and ADM Aéroports de Montréal in creating dining experiences that feel both elevated and genuinely welcoming."
With its bar-forward layout, contemporary design, and menu built for everything from quick bites to lingering pre-flight meals, Barrafina reflects SSP Canada's continued focus on creating restaurant experiences travelers would actively choose beyond the airport.
