(Alliance News) - Stellantis NV and Microsoft Corp announced on Thursday a five-year strategic collaboration aimed at accelerating Stellantis' digital transformation through the co-development of advanced capabilities in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and engineering.
The agreement involves the joint development of over 100 AI-driven initiatives, ranging from commercial operations and customer care to industrial processes. Applications include product development, advanced validation and testing, as well as predictive maintenance solutions and the accelerated rollout of digital services.
On the security front, Stellantis will bolster its infrastructure with a global cybersecurity center powered by AI technologies, designed to protect IT systems, connected vehicles, manufacturing plants, and digital services from increasingly sophisticated threats.
The partnership also includes cloud modernization via Microsoft Azure, targeting a 60% reduction in data center impact by 2029, while simultaneously improving the scalability, resilience, and speed of digital services.
Artificial intelligence will be increasingly integrated into the user experience, featuring capabilities that provide personalized driving suggestions and proactive vehicle status updates. In parallel, the group is expanding internal AI usage with the initial rollout of 20,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses to support employee productivity and collaboration.
Stellantis shares were down 0.9% at EUR6.99 per share.
