Stellantis announced on Monday a temporary shutdown of its Poissy plant (Yvelines) in response to difficult market conditions in Europe.

"The Stellantis plant in Poissy announced this morning during a works council meeting the suspension of production for 15 working days, from October 13 to 31, in order to adjust its production pace to a challenging European market, and to better manage inventory levels before the end of the year," a spokesperson for the automaker told Reuters, confirming information previously reported by AFP.

The spokesperson added that the group would use the downtime to carry out maintenance work and schedule employee training sessions.

The Poissy plant employs 2,000 people and manufactures the DS3 and Opel Mokka compact SUVs.
