The Fim Cisl union reported the figures, attributing the increase to the introduction of new models.
Passenger car production - excluding light commercial vehicles - grew by 22% over the January-March period to 73,841 units, the union added in its quarterly report on Stellantis' Italian output.
In 2025, Stellantis produced fewer than 380,000 vehicles in Italy, while passenger car production fell to 213,706 units, a low not seen in over 70 years, according to previous statements from the union. Fim Cisl regularly publishes estimates on Stellantis' Italian production, which are typically not contested by the automaker.
Reuters has contacted Stellantis for comment on the latest data.
