Explosion protection specialist Stif has announced the acquisition of significant new business volumes in Asia from several major players in the battery energy storage system (BESS) sector, to be handled by its Suzhou plant in China.
Its long-standing client Tesla has confirmed the renewal of a global business volume agreement, with a marked acceleration in Asia linked to the deployment of its recently launched megafactory in Shanghai, dedicated to BESS construction.
Sungrow has also signed the start of "very significant" recurring orders for its new production unit in Thailand, and Stif has secured a first contract for substantial volumes with Trinasolar.
At the same time, Stif has announced that it has received ATEX certification for its new explosion-proof panel designed for the BESS industry. This product is notable for being installed not on the BESS roof as is customary, but on the side walls.
"This new panel also acts as a deflector, directing the effects of an explosion skyward and thus reducing the risk of collateral damage," the French company highlights.
STIF is an industrial group with 3 areas of activity:
- manufacture of dust explosion protection equipment and 'BESS' battery energy storage systems (65.5% of net sales);
- manufacture of bulk handling components (31.7%): lift buckets, compression fittings and bends, etc.;
- other (2.8%).
Net sales break down by source of revenue, mainly between sales of products (99%) and services (0.1%).
At the end of 2024, the group had 4 production sites located in France (2), China and the United States.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: France (13%), Europe (24%), North America (49%), Asia (12%) and other (2%).
