The Stockholm stock exchange opened higher as expected on Monday. The dramatic developments over the weekend, when the United States attacked Venezuela and captured President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, have not had any major impact on oil prices. However, geopolitical tensions have increased in the wake of these events.
After just under 15 minutes of trading, the OMXS30 index was up 0.46 percent at 2,894.30. During the day, the index has fluctuated between a low of 0.06 percent and a high of 0.50 percent.
The broader OMXSPI rose by 0.28 percent.
