The Stockholm Stock Exchange kicked off Wednesday's trading session with a strong surge, after being closed for the Epiphany holiday on Tuesday.

At 09:35, the OMXS30 index was up 2.05 percent at 2,960.85, while the broader OMXSPI index had increased by 1.85 percent to 1,065.57.

Astra Zeneca and Atlas Copco are leading the gains among the heavyweights in the OMXS30 index.

Munters is seeing a sharp decline following a statement from Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. At the CES trade show, Huang said the company's upcoming Rubin chip can be cooled with water at temperatures that do not require traditional cooling units.
