The Stockholm Stock Exchange remains firmly in positive territory at Wednesday's midday mark. Equities surged from the opening bell on growing optimism regarding a potential de-escalation of the conflict in Iran.

The rally follows comments from U.S. President Donald Trump suggesting that the United States could exit Iran within 2-3 weeks. Trump is scheduled to deliver a televised address to the nation tonight, Swedish time.

As of 12:52 PM, the blue-chip OMXS30 index had advanced 2.29 percent to 2,996.39. Adjusted for dividends, the OMXS30 was up 2.41 percent. Turnover on the Stockholm Stock Exchange amounted to approximately SEK 9.7 billion.

Among the major industrial sectors, real estate led the gains with a 2.7 percent rise, followed closely by the engineering sector, which climbed 2.6 percent. Conversely, the energy sector trailed the market, sliding 5.7 percent.

Within the OMXS30 constituents, Saab B rose 5.3 percent while Boliden gained 5.1 percent. Nibe B saw the weakest performance, declining 1.7 percent.

Appliance manufacturer Electrolux has decided to shutter its factory in Santiago, Chile, in April. The decision follows a review of cost competitiveness and affects 400 employees. A restructuring charge of SEK 500 million will be booked against operating profit in the first quarter of 2026, of which SEK 200 million will impact cash flow. The stock rose 2.5 percent.

Security firm Securitas has divested Global Elite Group, part of its U.S. aviation operations, to a subsidiary of HIG Capital. Global Elite Group is a U.S.-based provider of security services to airports, airlines, and aviation-related businesses, employing 1,800 people. In 2025, the business generated revenue of USD 100 million, equivalent to SEK 1 billion. The shares climbed 3 percent.

Co-founder Erik Gatenholm has been proposed for a comeback to the board of biotech company Bico at the upcoming Annual General Meeting. He previously stepped down from the board in 2024. Gatenholm remains the company's largest shareholder. The stock was up 4.4 percent.

Residential developer JM is selling a rental housing project in Sollentuna to Folksam for SEK 580 million. The stock edged up 1.1 percent.

Real estate firm Acrinova's board has revised its dividend proposal, now recommending a payout of SEK 3.75 per share, a significant hike from the previous proposal of SEK 0.50 per share. The stock surged 9.1 percent.

Construction group Byggpartner Gruppen has signed a Phase 2 contract with Vattenfall to build a new office and training campus in Forsmark, with an order value of SEK 500 million. The shares were up 1.2 percent.

Biotech company Xbrane Biopharma intends to resubmit its Biologics License Application (BLA) for its ranibizumab biosimilar to the U.S. FDA in April or May 2026. The stock increased 3 percent.

In analyst news, SEB has dropped its "sell" rating on Thule, upgrading the stock to "hold." The shares rose 3.5 percent.

Danske Bank has upgraded Ependion to "buy" from "hold," sending the stock up 3.3 percent. Nordea made a similar move for Beijer Alma, which advanced 5.7 percent.
